Where Salary Expectations Fit on a Pakistani Resume
Salary fields on portals and awkward CV lines can filter you out. Handle expectations without underselling yourself.
CV vs online forms
Most written CVs do not need salary history. Pakistani online forms often force expected salary anyway.
Research ranges on Rozee, Glassdoor snippets, and peer groups for your city and years of experience.
Use a range in forms when allowed: "180,000 to 220,000 PKR" instead of a single aggressive number.
When to mention in documents
Cover letter or email when the employer asks you to state expectations upfront.
Gulf applications where visa and package tier depend on stated current salary. Be truthful; offers get verified.
Avoid putting salary on CV header unless the ad requires it.
Current vs expected
Inflated current salary hurts later verification. Pakistani banks and multinationals often ask for payslips.
If you are underpaid, focus on market range in forms rather than lying about current pay.
Benefits matter: fuel, medical, bonuses. Compare whole package in notes to yourself, not only gross on CV.
Negotiation timing
CV should sell fit and impact. Numbers on achievement bullets are about revenue saved or sales made, not your personal pay.
Interview stage is normal for Pakistani employers to discuss salary. Having a researched range ready is enough.
Fresh grads: trainee programs publish stipends openly. Do not price yourself out of campus drives with random figures.
